Where Do You Draw the Line on government control of your life?

Where do you draw the line when it come to our governments control over your life and freedoms in the laws it passes?

Below we have a simple scenario to pose and help you determine your level of resistance and where you draw the line on Federal and State government's control over your freedoms and liberties.

The Federal government today passed a law mandating that every man, women and child in the United States purchase a car if they don't already have one. The law also stipulates that if you don't own a car you will be charged fee deducted from your income tax refund and penalized by fine and/or possible imprisonment.

Now let us assume you already own a car, which you can barely afford right now, for your family of four. So you think you're ok, but wait, the law says ,every man, women and child must have a car.  So like a good law abiding American you go out and buy 3 more inexpensive used cars from your friend at the local KIA dealership, one for you wife and 2 for your underage children. Now because you didn't have the cash, you had to take out a loan going further into debt which you can't really afford and still cover your living expenses but; at least you complied with the law and you where satisfied with your choices in automobiles, the price you paid and payments you can just about afford.

Now you're not done yet, the governments law further says you must inform the Division of Auto Acquisitions (DAA) of your purchase and provide them with the cars manufacturer, make, model, color, options and price you paid. After giving the nice DAA enforcement employee all the information on your purchase the nice employee advises you that your autos do not meet their standards for you and your family. What are you talking about, you say! So that nice employee goes onto to explain that, not only the 3 new cars you purchased but the car you already own do not qualify under their standards established for your family. The DAA enforcement employee goes to explain that your cars were all used cars and must be new cars. The cars model must be manufactured by either Chrysler or GM, (both which you hate), that the model must be a black or white LeBaron or Cadillac CTS fully loaded including a GPS system so you can be tracked throughout their system.

Well now you hopping mad. You explain to the enforcement officer that you are completely satisfied with you choices and that you can't possibly afford to sell or trade all your cars, without a significant financial loss, to purchase the Chrysler or GM cars which you don't need or want and are more expensive requiring you to assume more debt to purchase. Now to add insult to injury, the enforcement employee advises you that if you do not make the required changes, in a prescribed period of time, you will be fined $1,000.00 and receive possible jail time if you refuse to comply. Although, understanding your situation the DAA employee offers you an alternative. You can sell or trade your cars for the required models and government will give you a partial tax credit, at the end of the year, for the difference in the money it will cost you. That's when you ask how you can recoup the the remaining balance and extra interest cost each year to which he responds. We have a special program which you can apply for that will give you a grant to reimburse you for your loss that year. Out of curiosity, you ask the question; Where is that money coming from? to which the employee responds. From the federal government. We're jacking up the taxes on your really rich next door neighbor plus we raised the taxes on your employers business increased the taxes on gasoline, and jacked up the taxes on medical supplies and medicine produced by those abusive profit making drug companies.

Well being the good little model citizen and in lieu of the alternative, fines and possible jail time, you followed the DAA enforcement employee's suggestion and applied for the grants and tax credits, even though they wouldn't cover everything nor would they offset your expenses in the following years because you knew, costs would be going up due to those tax increases. After all, what choice did you really have, pay for what you didn't want or thought you needed or go to jail.

Buy now we guess you can see where this is going. This is an exact example of how the Health Care Reform Law will work. It is an never ending, infinitely expanding with no end in sight, circle jerk perpetuated by irresponsible government entitlement programs and spending ultimately resulting in greater government control and power over all Americans and our freedoms. But the question was, Where do you draw the line on governments power and control over your daily life and freedoms of choice and liberties. Today its about Health Care reform, and tomorrow it will be about the car you own and the next day, the type and size of house you must buy, the appliances you must purchase, where and who you must work for, the type and kind of education you're allowed, the kind of food you can eat and how many children you're allowed to have. When will this government abuse or power & control end.

Where do you draw the line with your government? We say NOW before its to late and we have given away all our freedoms, liberties and the ability to reverse the damage caused by an irresponsible oppressive government WE ALLOWED to exist!

I don’t agree with this law. I think, It was a wastage of money. Government should be tried to other concept, which is save peoples money & get more benefits to peoples.
