The American Reform party continues to grow at a fast pace, beyond our expectations. Our March '99 Workshop in San Diego featured three days of intense planning, which established the beginning of our national Congressional Strategy programs. These political strategy programs are now being developed by our Congressional Strategy Special Committee (CSSC), chaired by political consultant Charles Riggs of New York. Candidates as well as political party platforms in all 50 states are being evaluated to help determine specific ARP strategy in those states.
The recent success of Jesse Ventura's Minnesota Reform Party last fall has sparked new enthusiasm for political reform, particularly among youthful voters. Next year's election in the year 2000 will provide additional opportunities for third party and independent political activists. The ARP believes that we are in a unique position to respond to the mutual concerns of youthful voters and supportive political activists. We see the ARP uniting with all such forces in the fight for socially progressive and fiscally conservative economic policies. The political arena is heating up and you won't want to miss this event!
The event on the minds of all our members is the upcoming ARP National Convention in Washington D. C. on October 1, 2, & 3, 1999. With our Convention Committee taking care of last minute details and invitations going out to prospective speakers, we're sure to have an even more successful and enjoyable convention than we had in 1997. Make your plans now.
Roy Downing, our Webmaster, has recently upgraded our ARP web site which continues to provide the perfect introduction for prospective members to our American Reform Party. New members, current members, as well as prospective members of the American Reform Party will want to visit our official web site for the most current information on ARP activities and organizational structure. And if you're interested in participating in spirited debates on current political issues, join us on our "issues reflector" by contacting Kathleen Hopkins, ARP Communications Officer (khop1@sprynet.com), for instructions.
The best news I have saved for last ...
Nancy Couperus, Chair of our ARP Outreach Committee, has recently had to order a new supply of ARP membership pamphlets to meet the demand for information on the ARP. I would like to extend a very special thanks to all of our active members that have taken the time and effort to make our American Reform Party the fastest growing political party in the nation.
Contributions to help support the continued growth and efforts of the ARP are encouraged. You may use our SECURE WEBPAGE to make your contribution with a credit card. We accept Visa, Mastercard. Check and Money Order Contributions may be sent to: Deputy Treasurer Roy Downing at: 10 Aida Court Lodi, New Jersey 07644.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Ted Muga - ARP Chairman
Cdr./USN, Ret.
