Our Environment
We must become better stewards of our environment. It is our responsibility to are children and future generations to protect & preserve our environment for their quality of life.
If we refuse to start addressing this issue, we as a nation could face severe affects, ramifications and possible national security risks from our lack of response. By using a common sense approach coupled with real, honest, independent, qualified scientific information, advice and solutions we can begin to minimize and eventually reverse the effects of our carbon foot print upon this nation. We need to encourage other developing nations to follow our lead by sharing our success, methods and technology so they can achieve similar results. We need to work with all developed nations to adopt the same or similar standards for preserving the environment for all people. We need to begin sharing our technologies for combating the affects produced by an oil based industry and economy. We must seek out cleaner sources of energy. We must free ourselves from dependence on petroleum products where ever possible. We need accords of a united plan between Countries to follow, NOT a Cap & Trade program purely designed by corporations to make money from these basic human right issues. We need reasonable, fazed in, common sense, standards and regulation of our industries to comply with our long term goals for a cleaner environment. We must lead the way and encourage our neighbors to follow.
We fully understand the economic issue behind this issue however, if only we adopt a policy of a clean environment and our neighbors are not engaged– this can readily lead to a national security crisis. Potentially, global abuse of our environment could lead to devastating weather patterns, terrible storms, drought, conflict, and famine. That means people competing for food and water in the comming years in the very places that have known horrific violence will view America as a source for these staples of life.
